YuFeng Asian Cuisine
About This Spot
Stepping into YuFeng Asian Cuisine on a quiet stretch of East Evans Road feels like discovering a tucked-away neighborhood gem that invites you to slow down and savor something truly comforting. The space strikes a gentle balance—casual yet thoughtful—with the hum of conversation mingling effortlessly with the aromas drifting from the kitchen. It’s a place where the steady rhythm of lunchtime chatter and the careful attentiveness of the staff create a welcoming pause from the bustle outside.
The atmosphere here is unpretentious but warm, reflecting a genuine care in both the surroundings and the flavors. Menus arrive promptly, offering a broad range that speaks to the diverse culinary traditions of China and wider Asia without overwhelming. There’s a particular joy in watching familiar favorites take on fresh life here—whether it’s the light snap of perfectly steamed dumplings or the textured, smoky embrace of wok-fired noodles that carry just the right hint of “wok hei,” a signal of skilled, fast cooking over high heat.
This is a spot where dishes feel made-to-share and thoughtfully crafted, with an eye on the freshest ingredients and bright bursts of flavor that keep you coming back. The portions tend toward generous, inviting leisurely meals with close company, where conversation flows as freely as the casual, hummed comfort that fills the room.
YuFeng also subtly surprises with touches that go beyond standard fare—whether it’s the balance of a crisp lettuce wrap or the gentle complexity of a broth simmered to perfection. Each bite carries a little warmth and care that speaks of a kitchen confident in its craft yet never taking itself too seriously.
For those who appreciate honest food served in a relaxed, neighborhood setting, this restaurant quietly earns its place as a reliable go-to. It’s a spot that respects tradition but welcomes discovery with open arms, offering a sense of belonging that’s as much about the experience as it is about the taste.

We tried their lunch specials today and were very impressed. Each dish was generously portioned and had great flavors. The meat was tender and the vegetables were fresh. The staff were kind and very attentive. We would definitely come back here again.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. There's about 12 tables and it was half full. After picking our own table, was immediately given the menus and brought waters. Started off with the Steamed Dumplings, Thai Tea, and their Peach Iced Tea while looking over the menu. Nice range in the menu from noodles, meats, seafood, rice, and vegetable dishes. Decided on the Happy Family (mixed bbq meats) and Crispy Fried Noodles with Shrimp. It's very hard to find Crispy Fried Noodles in San Antonio, so was excited to try this dish. Food came out after about 10 minutes and looked great. You can tell everything was made fresh to order. All the dishes were great from the Appetizers to the main dishes. Very authentic food and good service. Will come back again to try more of their dishes.

Fantastic food, excellent service and great atmosphere, what else can I say? We started with the BBQ pork bun - great! Then the moo shu pork which was the best we've had in years! Then I got the Singapore noodles and my husband got the flat noodles with chicken. Both were sooooo freaking good. We loved all of it! Oh, they also have huge portions. Don't walk, run here for your next meal! We drive up from Converse for this place!

As a Chinese immigrant with picky taste buds, I can guarantee you this place is truly a gem of an authentic Chinese restaurant. The food here is outstanding—every dish is made fresh and packed with flavor. You can really taste the wok hei in the stir-fries, that smoky aroma that sets authentic Chinese cooking apart. The ingredients are always fresh, and each bite feels comforting and satisfying. What makes this place even more special is the owner. They’re always so welcoming and friendly, which makes dining here feel personal and inviting. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes you want to keep coming back, not just for the food but for the warm atmosphere too. From the crispy appetizers to the rich, savory mains, everything is super delicious. Yufeng has quickly become one of my favorite local spots, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine with heart and care behind it.

We ate: General Tso’s Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Crispy Spicy chicken, pork egg rolls, sweet corn soup, Deep fried Ribs, sea Food Lo Main and Twice cooked pork Belly. Everything was amazing, original Chinese flavor. Everything was very fresh and made at the moment. The Bubble tea (frozen) was delicious. Definitely one of the best Chinese place that I’ve been and ate. We’ll come back.

As someone who looks for authentic Chinese in every city I’ve been in and had some rather interesting experiences, I put this restaurant on par with those in Chicago and San Francisco china towns as well as the best of atlanta. The fish maw is on par (has to be requested in house) and the salt and pepper squid, bok choy, and garlic eggplant were amazing. We will be back. Staff was phenomenal, quiet ambiance, completely a gem you would never know was there just driving by.

Good lunch specials with an attentive staff. The food was quick and fresh. Haven't had hot and sour soup that actually had some spice heat to it in a long time. It will catch you off guard. Want to come back and try some of the seafood dishes next time.

This is the best Chinese food I’ve found since being in the San Antonio area. The portions are generous and the flavor is outstanding. The people who work there are very kind. Lastly the bathroom is nice too.
